On September 24, Ms. Tiziana D'Angelo, the Consul General of Italy in Shanghai, visited Zhejiang Conservatory of Music. Secretary of the Party Committee Gan Wudong met with her for discussions, and Vice President Dong Dejun also participated. Leaders from the President's Office, Art Practice Department, International Office, Music Education Department, Opera Academy, and Asset Management Company accompanied them.

Gan Wudong warmly welcomed the arrival of Antia and her delegation, briefly reviewing the history, scale, and recent achievements of Zhejiang Conservatory of Music. He noted that although Zhejiang Conservatory is a young institution, it has always upheld an open, inclusive, and enterprising spirit, dedicated to promoting the internationalization of music education. The conservatory is equipped with high-end facilities, including a grand theater and concert hall, which provide a solid foundation for the successful hosting of various artistic activities. In recent years, Zhejiang Conservatory has established a strong friendship and cooperative foundation with the Italian music community, successfully attracting numerous outstanding Italian faculty members and making solid progress in cultural exchange and academic collaboration. Regarding the upcoming thematic opera project commemorating the 700th anniversary of Marco Polo's death, to be co-created with the Conservatorio di Musica Bnedetto Marcello Venezia, the institution will ensure full support to guarantee the smooth and orderly execution of the project, jointly promoting cultural exchange between China and Italy.

Antia expressed gratitude for the warm reception at Zhejiang Conservatory of Music and highly praised the institution's efforts in promoting cultural exchange between China and Italy. She stated that the opera co-created by both sides will be a milestone event in cultural exchange, injecting new vitality and momentum into the future development of musical arts in both countries. She looks forward to deepening the collaboration between Zhejiang Conservatory and Conservatorio di Musica Bnedetto Marcello Venezia, fostering extensive cooperation in the field of music, and jointly creating more impactful works to enhance friendship between the peoples of the two nations.

During the visit, Antia and her delegation also toured the campus.
