Recently, the 14th China-US Tourism Leadership Summit was held in Xi'an, Shaanxi Province. President Wang Rui and Vice President Dong Dejun attended the opening ceremony and participated in the signing ceremony.
Vice President Dong Dejun and Boris Dolgonos, Board Chair of the Silk Road Project, Inc. (SRP), signed a MOU on behalf of both sides, witnessed by President Wang Rui and Ben Hartley, Executive Director of the SRP. The two sides plan to cooperate in developing international musician training programs within three years and jointly host the " The Silk Road Project's Global Musician Workshop - Hangzhou" at Zhejiang Conservatory of Music. The workshop, led by artists of SRP, will invite guests from various cultural backgrounds and representing different traditional music styles to participate. It will be held once a year for one week each time, scheduled for the summers of 2024 to 2026, with the first one to be held in late August this year.
The International Exchange and Cooperation Bureau of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the PRC and the Chinese Consulate General in New York have affirmed and provided strong support for the " The Silk Road Project's Global Musician Workshop – Hangzhou”. They believe that this is a measure to promote the exchanges and mutual learning of different civilizations, consolidate consensus on cooperation between China and the United States. In addition to expanding cultural exchanges between China and the United States and deepening the friendship between the two peoples, this project also creates opportunities for Chinese artists to participate in global tours.
