On the morning of May 27th, Maria Serrat Martin, Dean of the Barcelona Liceu Conservatory, Maria Fernanda Martinez, Director of International Relations, and Liu Jing, President of the China-Spain Bridge Cultural Exchange Association, visited ZJCM. President Wang Rui and Vice President Dong Dejun received them and held discussions.
President Wang Rui expressed his warm welcome to the delegation led by Martin. He said that two years ago, under the witness of the Chinese Consulate General in Barcelona, Zhejiang Conservatory of Music and Barcelona Liceu Conservatory established collaborations based on the exchange student program. Currently, 26 students from ZJCM are studying in Barcelona and have achieved good results. The unique Spanish music style and the open, inclusive, and dynamic educational philosophy upheld by Barcelona Liceu Conservatory fit well with the development ideas of ZJCM. He hoped that the two conservatories can expand the scope of cooperation, enrich the forms of cooperation, integrate the construction of the five colleges and various music festival brands of ZJCM, and form normalized exchange programs such as having master classes and mutual visits between teachers and students.
Martin expressed her gratitude for the warm reception of ZJCM. She said that as a music conservatory with a history of 187 years, cooperating with ZJCM, a young and energetic school, has injected new vitality into this ancient conservatory. Barcelona Liceu Conservatory boasts an international teaching staff that is in line with world standards and students from 43 countries. In addition to cultivating high-level music talents, it has also established integrated music talents cultivation systems with more than 40 primary and secondary schools in Catalonia. It is the only school in Spain that deeply participates in the entire city's primary and secondary music education, providing students with a comprehensive learning and practicing platform. She said that the arrival of exchange students from ZJCM in recent years has added musical diversity to Barcelona Liceu Conservatory, and hoped that more teachers and students from ZJCM will participate in exchange visits, and Spanish students will also be sent to ZJCM for exchange and study.
Before the meeting, the delegation of Barcelona Liceu Conservatory visited the concert hall, music museum, and affiliated music schools of ZJCM.
