A 13-member dance troupe of Zhejiang Conservatory of Music (ZJCM) arrived in Budapest and proceeded to Pécs, the capital of Baranya County. They attended the opening ceremony of the "Oriental Aesthetics Exhibition: Encountering Poetic Zhejiang in the 24 Solar Terms" on May 15.

The event was hosted by the People's Government of Zhejiang Province and the Government of Baranya County, organized by the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Culture, Radio, Television, and Tourism and the Department of Foreign Affairs Office of the Zhejiang Provincial People's Government. During the ceremony, the troupe presented the classic dance performance Dingbu Bridge, which showcased the aesthetic charm of picturesque Zhejiang, garnering unanimous praise from the audience.

During the event, Yi Lianhong, Secretary of the Zhejiang Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Congress, László Óry, Governor of Baranya County, and Sun Jie, Cultural Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Hungary, delivered speeches respectively.

This year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Hungary, as well as the 20th anniversary of the friendship between Zhejiang and Baranya County. The oriental aesthetic exhibition "Encountering the Poetic Zhejiang in the 24 Solar Terms" organized by the People's Government of Zhejiang Province is a concrete action to implement the Global Civilization Initiative proposed by President Xi Jinping and the important consensus reached by the leaders of China and Hungary, as well as the cooperation documents between the two sides. It will help deepen the cooperation and friendship between Zhejiang and Baranya County in Hungary, and contribute more Zhejiang strength to promoting the relations and pragmatic cooperation between China and Hungary to a higher level. The entire performance presented the unique charm of "the poetic and picturesque south of the Yangtze River and vibrant Zhejiang" to the audience, allowing them to feel the long history, profound culture, and vibrant cultural heritage of the Chinese civilization from the cycle of the 24 solar terms.

At the scene, "Dingbu Bridge," a dance that once appeared on the Spring Festival Gala of the Year of the Rabbit, was like a cup of clear and fragrant Longjing tea, showcasing the aesthetic charm of poetic and picturesque Zhejiang, winning high praise and unanimous acclaim from the guests and audience

Faculty and students from the Dance Department of ZJCM also visited the Hungarian Dance University in Budapest. Both parties agreed during the symposium to deepen their collaboration and exchanges, further solidifying the mutual enhancement of artistic education in Zhejiang Province and Hungary.

Three postgraduate students participating in the exchange program at Eotvos Lorand University in Hungary this semester cooperated with Hungarian musicians to perform the Chinese classic Butterfly Lovers and the famous European song Czardas. Their performance brought the atmosphere to a climax, showcasing the blend and collision of Chinese and Hungarian music, leaving the guests deeply moved by the transcendent beauty of art that transcends national boundaries.

This visit with the delegation of Zhejiang Province to Hungary enabled students from ZJCM to broaden their horizons, improve professional capabilities, and effectively enhance their artistic creativity through international cultural exchanges.
