Invited by Ambassador Sun Gongyi of the People's Republic of China in the Republic of Mauritius, a 16-member music delegation led by Prof. Yang Jiuhua, Vice President of Zhejiang Conservatory of Music (ZJCM),  visited Mauritius from 13 to 19 December 2018. The delegation successfully promoted China's culture, experienced African art, and intensified the exchanges between the two sides.

On the evening of 15 Dec (local time), ZJCM musicians made their debut at Caudan Arts Centre with presence of Chinese Ambassador Sun Gongyi, Cultural Counselor Song Yanqun and distinguished guests. The first half of the concert focused on traditional Chinese music, while the second presented several western compositions as well. The concert ended with Lame Dans Lame, the theme song in celebration of Mauritius's 50th anniversary of independence, driving the atmosphere to the new high.

The delegation held the second concert at Gandhi Academy Theatre together with artists from Mitterrand School of Music (Conservatoire National de Musique Francois Mitterrand) on the afternoon of 16 Dec.

On the afternoon of 17 Dec, ZJCM delegation visited Chinese Embassy and presented a small concert there, marking a peak of this visit. Ambassador Sun Gongyi spoke highly of the professional dedication of ZJCM musicians, and invited them to Mauritius again to bring excellent Chinese music to local people.
