Xu Junyue

Xu Junyue, master’s tutor, president of West Lake Guqin Club (seven –stringed plucked instrument, similar to the
zither), he is the representative of the Guqin Provincial’s intangible culture heritage. He is the executive-board member of the Chinese Traditional Instrument Institute, and executive vice president of Guqin Institute, president of Zhejiang Musicians Association Guqin committee.
In 1989, he got second prize in Zhejiang Fork Music Competition (the first prize won by vacancy). In 1992, he received the highest prize in Hangzhou International Guqin tournament. In 2004, he got the gold prize for adults at National Guqin competition. He served as judge for many national Guqin competitions. The Robb Report (America) chose him as one of “China’s top 4 artists”in 2011. In 2014, he was awarded the “Asian Art International Exchange Award” by Asia Art Education Association. He regularly works with art troupes and outstand performers from US, Germany, Japan, Mainland China, and Taiwan District. He holds many solo concerts and Guqin lectures both at home and abroad.
